I3P.org is the kind of domain that catches my attention as a domain investor because it looks simple at first, but gets more interesting the deeper you dig. Three characters, one of them a number, and a .org extension — not exactly the most obvious combination. But I3P is already used as an established acronym in technology, cybersecurity, research and innovation, which gives the domain considerably more substance than a random alphanumeric string.
One particularly relevant use is the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection, a cybersecurity research consortium that has used the I3P acronym. There is also I3P, the innovation incubator connected with Politecnico di Torino in Italy. So the acronym already has real-world associations with infrastructure, technology, cybersecurity, research and startups.
That is what makes short alphanumeric domains interesting. You don’t necessarily need a dictionary word. Sometimes the value is in the combination itself: short, memorable, flexible and capable of representing completely different organizations or concepts.
I3P could also be interpreted creatively as Intelligent Infrastructure Platform, Internet Infrastructure Protection, International Innovation Partners, Integrated Intelligence Platform or even an AI-focused Infrastructure Platform. The possibilities are broad enough that I wouldn’t consider the domain dependent on any single existing organization.
