This is the name for the next B&H Photo Video or MPB. That’s the scale the term supports, and it’s worth being direct about it.
Gear is the word the audience uses. Not equipment, not products, not hardware. Photographers and videographers talk about their gear, search for gear, read gear reviews, and post gear lists. A retailer named in the customer’s own vocabulary starts every conversation already inside the community.
Video leads the modern market. It’s the mainstream use case now rather than a specialism, and the volume of people buying lighting, audio, gimbals, and lenses primarily to shoot video far exceeds those buying for stills alone. A name carrying both words covers where the money is and where it came from.
The business models are all live: new retail, used marketplace, rental, reviews and buying guides, or a comparison platform. Used gear in particular is a structurally strong market, since equipment holds value and turnover is constant.
