Instance is the cloud’s word for a running thing. Code instances reads as provisioned development environments: the ephemeral machine that spins up for a branch, a review, a test run, or a workspace.
That’s a real and growing product category. Cloud development environments, preview deployments, and remote workspaces have all become standard practice at larger engineering organisations, and the tooling market around them is active.
The name fits a cloud IDE, a preview environment service, a CI infrastructure product, or a sandbox platform for teaching and demos. The teaching reading is worth noting: code bootcamps and documentation sites increasingly want runnable examples, and somebody has to provide the compute.
Two words, no hyphen, .com, and both are vocabulary the buyer uses daily. Developer tools succeed partly on whether the name sounds like it was made by someone who writes code, and this one does.
