Instance is the word cloud computing settled on for a running copy of something. EC2 instances, database instances, container instances. It’s the unit of provisioned compute.
Media instances therefore reads as provisioned media infrastructure: transcoding, streaming, rendering, or storage delivered as spun-up capacity. That’s a real technical category, and it’s a demanding one, since media workloads are the heaviest thing most companies ever run.
The name fits a media processing platform, a streaming infrastructure company, a rendering service, or a CDN adjacent product. It speaks the right language to the buyer, who is an engineer or a technical operations lead rather than a marketer.
There’s a plainer reading too, where instances means cases or examples, which suits a media monitoring or archive product.
Two words, no hyphen, .com, and both are common in the vocabulary of the intended audience.
